Gillette Stadium, home of the New England Patriots

Our trip to Plymouth a few weeks ago first began with picking up a car at Avis and then a stop at Gillette Stadium, where the New England Patriots play football.

It is in Foxborough, Massachusetts and is about 20 miles southwest of Boston. The New England Revolution soccer team also plays there.

When we left Boston, we didn’t know we would be seeing the stadium. We wanted to stop by the Wrentham Village Premium Outlets while out that way, and our directions there took us straight by the stadium. We thought, we may never  be out this way again, so why not stop by?!

We went into the Pro Shop:

We liked this shirt, the Boston Patriots:

While researching for this post, we learned that the New England Patriots changed its name from the original Boston Patriots after relocating to Foxborough in 1971.

We saw this rock at the stadium and I still can’t find it’s significance, but since we were going to Plymouth rock later that day, I took the picture:

The stadium was opened in 2002 and seats 68,756.

The next time we see a Patriots home game, I’ll sure we’ll pay a bit more attention.
