Well, vacation is over and I’m on the bus back to work. It has been a fantastic holiday!
I worked a half day on Wednesday and Tony and I got on the road to New York before 2pm. It took 6 hours to get there! It normally takes less than 3.5 to get to Orange County to visit his aunt.
Look at the countryside behind us. My goal was not to walk and to finish under 33 minutes. I did it it under 29 minutes. This was Tony’s first 5K and finished around 24 minutes! I was so proud!!!
My thanksgiving plate!
We went hiking the day after Thanksgiving. It’s the edge of the Catskills, I think.
It was called Sam’s Point Reserve and we walked to the ice caves and then did a look around a lake on top of the mountain/hill.
On Friday evening, Tony’s aunt mentioned wanting to go to some nearby wineries and so that’s what we did Saturday afternoon. We visited 4 different ones. Here was Baldwin Winery.
Then we went to Brimstone and did a tasting of 10 wines and picked up 2 bottles.
Here was Whitecliff Winery. This place was very friendly and knew a lot about their wines.
We drove back late on Saturday night and it took less than 3.5 hours and we didn’t hit any traffic. That was such a relief!
On Sunday, Tony had a meeting downtown in the afternoon and we decided to see some of the downtown holiday lights and displays. While he was in his meeting, I went to the Holiday Market and also to Macy’s. I took lots of pictures inside the market and saw a few potential Christmas presents. I hope to go back!
Then we walked to Faneil Hall where one of the biggest trees in Boston is. I did some shopping there but mostly just enjoyed the afternoon and looking forward to the holiday season! Christmas is less than a month away!
I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!
