Bokx 109 Brunch

Bokx109

A few weeks ago, I received an invitation courtesy of the Boston Bruchers group to go to Bokx 109 on a Sunday of my choice. It was fun to bring along someone and still enjoy the atmosphere of brunch, even if the rest of the brunchers weren’t there.

Bokx 109 is in Newton, MA and just outside of Boston.  It is located inside Hotel Indigo and is a modern, upscale American restaurant.

Below is the entryway where you can see that the left side is the lounge area, and group seating on the right, separated by the bar. The interior is a mix of brown and red.

The manager brought around the bloody mary cart and welcomed us.

Here is the hot sauce selection. They also use Belvedere Bloody Mary (Vodka with 7 ingredients).

I loved Tony’s reaction to Bokx’s Bloody Mary

He had never had a bloody mary. Like I said at the last brunch at Sinclair’s, I’m not a big bloody mary fan, but the manager insisted that we try it. It was good that he could tailor it to our non spicy needs. Here is a close up of the veggies in it.

The chef brought us a tasting of the Pear and Mascarpone Sacchetti. It’s a small piece of fresh pasta stuffed with pear and cheese. They have a full entree of this.

I really had a hard time deciding what to order. Recently, I have been going with an egg dish, but before that I always went with the sweet dish- either the pancakes, waffles, or french toast.

Bokx 109 has red velvet and white chocolate pancakes, along with cinnamon crunch french toast. I went with the Crab Louie.

This was like eggs benedict. It was crab, lettuce, tomato, chipotle aioli, and hollandaise on a grilled ciabatta.

I wanted you to see the inside. There was a lot of crab. It was very good. The eggs were cooked perfectly! They also had a small side of potatoes.

Tony’s Steak Omelete. It had very, very tender steak, smoked gouda, caramelized onions, and mushrooms inside with greens and balsamic glaze on top. He said it was amazing and the meat very tender and flavorful.

After enjoying our brunch, we walked around the rest of the restaurant and pool area.

There is a lounge area, near the bar and you can look out into the pool deck!

This brunch was free of charge, but the opinions are my own.

  2. I am not hungry , but the food and Bloody Marys looked awesome. What a cool looking place. That pool would be nice. If I was there in Boston, I would really like to go to this place.
