Fireworks Photography on the Boston Harbor

I took (attempted to take) pictures of fireworks back in August.  It was mostly experimenting with how to do it.

Taking pictures of fireworks is hard. You have no idea where the subject is going to be (unless you’re familiar with the show) and how much of the frame the fireworks are going to fill.

It’s also difficult to get a good spot without getting things in your foreground (like people, light poles, signs, buildings or trees). You also have no idea how long the fireworks are going to be in the air and how long till the next one, so it’s a lot of trying things and luck.

This one is kind of interesting

This is one of my favorites. I need to edit it to crop out the bottom.

If you are curious and want to see the bad ones (along with the rest of them), they are at the bottom of this page.
